Eventually color was added to the Yosemite carte thinking it would be more attractive for customers to purchase. The original color drawing resides in the Yosemite Museum.

The first printed version of the Yosemite carte was done with black ink on a buff colored paper.

Once Jo sold the rights to the carte to the Yosemite Curry Company, over the years the carte was changed, by other artists, as activities in Yosemite National Park changed.

At 336 pages with 200 images, the jacketed hardback is set to be released on April 20, 2021 and is now available for a pre-release discount at bookshop.org.
